The Extra 260RR was created in honor of our dear friend and Precision Aerobatics family member, Clarence “Radio Rookie” Boudville. One of the biggest PA fans ever, Clarence’s passion brought PA aircraft to Malaysia and inspired an entire community of incredible pilots. This aircraft carries his spirit in every detail.
Based on the legendary Extra 260 first released in 2008 – one of PA’s longest-running bestsellers – the 260RR is not a redesign. It is a completely new airframe and a new philosophy, developed from the ground up to create the most refined, best-flying 48-inch aircraft ever made.
This is the lightest fully built-up 48″ aerobatic model in the world, engineered for maximum efficiency. While other brands rely on heavy, expensive high-voltage setups for short flight times, the 260RR delivers outstanding performance on a simple 3S 2200mAh pack, with long, enjoyable flights. Step up to 4S, and the plane transforms into an absolute high-energy monster, delivering insane roll rates, violent tumbles, and the most extreme aerobatics imaginable.
Friendly and confidence-inspiring for newer pilots, yet brutally capable in expert hands, the Extra 260RR excels at slow, locked-in 3D, on-rails precision, and crazy high-energy freestyle – all with easy landings and excellent wind handling.
This is not just another model.
It’s a tribute.
It’s a celebration of flight, friendship, and passion.
Built in RR’s honor. Flown in his spirit.
Simply the best 48″ Precision Aerobatics has ever created

From the very first flight, the Extra 260RR just feels right. It’s one of those airplanes that instantly gives you confidence – smooth, precise, and incredibly fun – yet it keeps surprising you the more you push it. This is a 48″ airplane that genuinely flies like something much bigger.
It will do every maneuver you can throw at it, and it does them cleanly. The airplane has a real big-airplane presence in the air, with a solid, planted feel that makes precision flying easy and aggressive freestyle feel controlled instead of chaotic.
What stood out immediately:
Most of the early testing was done on 3S, simply because it already felt so good. Plenty of power, long flight times, inexpensive packs, and a smooth, forgiving character that makes you want to keep flying. On 3S it’s floaty, precise, and incredibly enjoyable — the kind of setup you can fly all day.
Then we tried 4S… and everything changed.

On 4S, the Extra 260RR turns into a full-on high-energy animal. The same airplane that felt smooth and friendly on 3S suddenly delivers explosive power, insane roll rate, and brutal tumbles — without ever feeling out of control. It honestly felt like the best 48″ we’d flown just got pushed two levels higher.
High-energy maneuvers are effortless: fast snaps, crankshafts, blenders, wild knife-edge spins- it eats them up. Post-stall performance is equally impressive, with beautifully balanced rolling harriers, rock-solid upright and inverted harriers with no wing rock, and elevators that stay stable all the way down to a spot landing.
Knife-edge performance is a standout. The rudder authority is incredible. Smooth high-alpha KE, easy transitions straight into a hover, and precise, high-speed KE circuits that add a whole new dimension to precision flying.
In short, this is one of those airplanes that makes you forget its size.
It’s predictable, aggressive when you want it to be, forgiving when you need it ,and flat-out fun every single flight.

One of the biggest wins with the Extra 260RR is just how efficient the entire setup is. Because the airframe is so light and well balanced, it simply doesn’t need huge power systems to perform at the highest level.
While other brands are forced to run large, heavy, and costly 6S setups on similar-sized models just to get acceptable performance and short flight times, the 260RR delivers serious power and long flights on our efficient and affordable iPAs setup.
The recommended setup uses the Thrust 45 Revo 24-pole outrunner paired with a 2200mAh 3S pack. This combination makes the aircraft incredibly responsive, predictable, and easy to manage, with flight times of 6–7 minutes depending on throttle use. It’s smooth, powerful, and forgiving, and you don’t need to invest in oversized batteries or high-voltage electronics to enjoy it.
Want more?
Drop in a 4S 2200–2600mAh pack, and the airplane wakes up in a big way. Power delivery becomes explosive, roll rates go wild, and high-energy aerobatics and aggressive freestyle are taken to another level, all without compromising control or reliability.

Even the servo choice reflects this philosophy. We run NXT 70HV servos, where other brands rely on much larger, heavier, and more expensive units. The result is a lighter airframe, faster response, and a setup that simply makes sense.
Our complete iPA setup is hands down the best value package you’ll find for this size and performance class, delivering real competition-level performance! This is efficiency done right.
The Extra 260RR is built with one goal in mind: maximum performance through smart, no-compromise construction.

One of the standout features is the fully sealed aileron design. The ailerons sit inside precision-cut trailing-edge tunnels and are factory aligned and glued, completely eliminating hinge gaps. It’s a complex way to build a wing, but the payoff is smooth airflow, higher efficiency, and incredibly crisp control response.
Attention to detail is everywhere. Wings are matched individually to each fuselage, like some manufacturers do in giant-scale models.
As with all Precision Aerobatics models, only top-grade materials are used, with components cut on advanced laser and CNC machines. Real carbon fiber is used extensively throughout the airframe, keeping the model exceptionally light yet remarkably strong.

The Extra 260RR is built using Precision Aerobatics’ FiberFusion® construction, a method we’ve developed, refined, and trusted for over 20 years.
FiberFusion® means real, structural carbon fibre - not cosmetic overlays, not painted wood, and not imitation materials made to look the part. Carbon is used exactly where it matters to increase stiffness, reduce weight, and keep the airframe rigid under extreme loads. It’s far more expensive and complex to manufacture this way, but the performance benefits are impossible to fake.
The result is an airframe that is exceptionally light, incredibly strong, and remarkably precise. Control inputs stay crisp, the structure holds its shape during high-energy maneuvers, and the aircraft maintains its flying characteristics over time – even when flown hard.
FiberFusion® isn’t about appearance.
It’s about feel, precision, and durability - the kind you only notice once you’re in the air.
This is one of the key reasons the Extra 260RR stands apart from the competition, and why PA aircraft have earned their reputation for performance and longevity over the past two decades.
Although inspired by the legendary Extra 260 first released in 2008, the 260RR is a completely new design, not a revision of the 2019 V2 version. Every major aerodynamic and structural element has been rethought and refined.

The 260RR Key updates include:

Thrust 45 Revo / 4S
Vox 12x8
Our first choice for the Extra 260 when using the optional Vortex Generators (VGs). This prop is specifically tuned for high-energy XA and extreme 3D flying. The higher pitch provides excellent airspeed for aggressive maneuvers such as crankshafts and pop-tops, while still maintaining strong slow-speed control for rolling harriers and high-alpha knife edge.
Vox 13x6.5
Slightly slower in flight speed than the 12×8, but with increased thrust and pull-out authority in hovers and vertical maneuvers. The added prop wash improves slow 3D stability and control, while still performing very well in high-energy aerobatics. A must-have option for XA / 3D focused pilots.
Please Note: Adequate airflow for motor and ESC cooling is mandatory. Proper throttle management is required.
Thrust 45 Revo / 3S
Vox 14x8 (Recommended)
Our first choice for 3S setups with the Extra 260. Optimised for slower, more graceful 3D flight, this prop provides excellent thrust and prop wash for slow harriers, slow knife edge, and high-AOA maneuvers.
Offers strong punch for recovery out of hovers and torque rolls, while allowing moderate-speed maneuvers with a smooth, “giant-scale-like” overall appearance.
Vox 13x8
A well-balanced propeller for sport aerobatics and precision flying. It delivers higher flight speed than the 14×8 with slightly reduced pull-out power, making it an excellent choice for pilots focused on smooth, precise aerobatics and pattern-style flying.
Please Note: Adequate airflow for motor and ESC cooling is mandatory. Proper throttle management is required.
