Chris Kerswell Wins BRCA National Warm-Up at West London

Last weekend saw the final opportunity for drivers to get some pre-season testing done before the BRCA 1/10th Electric Touring Car Nationals start on 14th/15th May.

West London are hosts for round 1 of this year?s nationals, so their early summer club events have been full of national superstars trying to familiarise themselves with the newly laid tarmac surface at the track. Heavy rain during the night before left the track wet for early morning practice and the first round of qualifying, but the sun soon broke through the clouds and the track was almost completely dry by the end of round 2. Chris Kerswell and Mark Stiles have had limited running with their Associated TC6 chassis, which is their chassis of choice before their long-term sponsor?s cars are due to arrive mid-season. Despite this, both were able to set competitive times during qualifying with Chris lining up 3rd on the grid in the modified A-final, and Mark slightly further back in 7th. In the two-leg A finals, Chris drove well to take a brace of top-5 finishes; enough to secure him the overall win. Mark also had good runs in the finals; a 4th and a 6th netting him 4th overall in what was a very competitive A final. Chris and Mark also enjoyed a very close and entertaining battle during the second final, running feet apart for more than half of the race. Chris eventually gained the upper hand following a small mistake from Mark on the infield. Both drivers have been very happy with the out of the box performance of the TC6 Factory Team kit. Other than the addition of a Yokomo gear diff, their cars are not fitted with any upgrade or development parts at all. Modified A Final Results
