Another Strong Outing For The TC6.2 at Mendip Rnd 5

Sunday saw the CML/Associated/Reedy on-road team at Mendip RC Track. This year the weather has not been kind to the series and this weekend was to be no different, with weather warnings in place for Sunday giving a grim outlook.

In pro stock, Halifax meeting winner Chris Clark was able to secure another 'A' final performance with 5th on grid. For the first leg of finals the track was drying but back to speed for the 2nd and 3rd legs. Chris held position and put his 5th place towards his championship counting scores. Chris achieved his personal best with 5th overall in the National series.

Junior competitor Michael Bolt continued his fine form, a driver to watch for the future and his reward was 2nd place overall in the ‘under 17 Championship’ for 2014. Congratulations Michael!

In the Modified class luck just wasn’t to go Zak Smiths way in qualifying despite good outright pace. Strong showings in the B final gave him a 2nd place finish overall. Alan Bickerstaff was keen to continue recent form and again the tc6.2 had great pace on the Mendip circuit, from 9th on the grid two 5th place finishes and a 4th in the A final leg three gave Alan a 5th place overall for the meeting.

Zak placed 10th overall for the 2014 modified championship and Alan’s lucky number came up; 7th place in the series.

“ I’m really pleased with the results the CML/Associated/Reedy UK team have achieved this year at the BRCA’s, two cars in the modified top ten, 5th in the pro stock series and 2nd in the juniors for ‘wee Michael’. The weather this year has been average to say the least, wet cars/tyres have been in action at all rounds at some stage but we made the best of the situations and scored consistently throughout. Personally I’m delighted with the pace at the final meeting and 7th overall, big thanks to all the team and CML Distribution, Associated, Reedy for the help and back up.”‘
