TC5 wins at BTCC

Olly Jefferies took FTD and a dominating win in the A final to take round four of the BTCC

In an effort to get some track time in preparation for the forthcoming BRCA touring car national a number of Associated team drivers entered round four the Schumacher BTCC at the superb Cotswolds track. Heading the field away was Olly Jefferies. Olly?s TC5 looked dominant from the off as he set fastest time in all three rounds of qualifying. Also trying modified and enjoying himself was Dave Ward. Dave races Pro Stock at nationals for the team but just wanted to stretch his legs a little with a quick motor, Dave eventually lining up third in the B final. Zak Smith, Cameron McDonald and Tom jefferies were aiming to get some more performance out of the TC5 in Pro Stock spec; all three drivers struggled a little as they chased the constantly warming track. The Associated team hang out in their special tent. Yes that does make them cooler than you! In the modified A final Olly continued his domination in to the finals taking two straight wins ahead of the Tamiya pairing of Chris Kerswell and Glen Doman, but more importantly Olly was able log some more data which he hopes to put to good use in a few weeks time when drivers head for Cotswolds and the BRCA national. Olly (center) is reveling in his role as Associated TC manager. Tom Jefferies was the best of Pro Stock runners managing a second in the B final. The Cotswold club as always put on a first class event and the superb weather was a real bonus. Let?s hope they have kept some sunshine in reserve for the national.
