TC5 Wins at Muchmore Scottish Grand Prix

TC5 Wins at Muchmore Scottish Grand Prix

The Muchmore Scottish Grand Prix has always been a happy hunting ground for the Associated touring car team...

This year regular podium finishers Alan Bickerstaff and Olly Jefferies were joined by Pro Stock team members Cameron McDonald and Tom Jefferies. After a full days practice on Friday the team were looking good and driving on the pace. Missing was Olly who only arrived as qualifying got underway on the Saturday morning, a decision he probably regretted later in the event as he struggled to post consistent runs. For this years event the Scottish GP adopted the same format as BRCA nationals with two classes running back to back and round by round qualifying. By the end of qualifying it was 2nd on the Pro Stock A final grid for Tom Jefferies. For once Tom was matching his younger brother Olly who lined up second behind pole sitter Chris Grainger in modified. Alan Bickerstaff made it two TC5?s in the top five, while Cameron was pole in the Pro Stock B final. No amount of fine tuning by Olly Jefferies (left) couldn't keep up with older brother Tom's 'on fire' TC5 (right). Two straight wins and a fourth in the Pro Stock A finals gave Tom Jefferies his long awaited break through win and a fantastic result for the TC5. Tom used Reedy lipo and Savox servo?s. In modified it was excellent third for Alan Bickerstaff. Alan traditionally goes well at Stonehaven and kept up his fine run of consistent top finishes. For Olly it was a struggle in the finals and he finished down in fifth place, a DNF in the first final with a broken wheel proving difficult to overcome in the remaining to finals. After a troubled weekend Cameron McDonald won the B final. Olly, Tom, Cameron and Alan all flying the flag for Team Associated. Well done to Tom on a superb result, Tom will be hoping to carry his good form on to this weekend as the team now heads for fast Halifax and this weekends BRCA national.
