HoBao Dominates the Interclub Challenge

The 1st round of the 8th-08 series was at the home of the Fast tracks racing club on their excellent dirt/grass Facility near Sutton Coldfield. A FINAL - Truggy In the A final Truggies , Martin Hughes, Allan Wong, Chris Tidewell and Joe Punshon all had a go in first position, but it was young Joe Punshon that took the win just 2 seconds in front of Allan Wong, 3rd place was taken from Chris Deacon who had come from 10th position on the grid, so well done to him! Well done Joe for winning the truggy class on the 1st 8th-08 round! 1 Joe Punshon Hobao 27/ 1207.56 2 Allen Wong Hobao 27/ 1208.93 3 Chris Deacon Xray 26/ 1211.46 4 Adrian Owen Mugen 26/ 1232.21 A FINAL - Buggy The buggy A final began on what was now a very rutted track, maximum concentration was required to drive this now very challenging track. Losi driver Simon Willetts held the lead for the most of the race until a steering servo let go on him on lap 23, allowing Ho Boa driver Graham Alsop to take the lead, which Graham held to the end. David Bailey who qualified 5th ran a superb race coming in on the same lap as Graham, Tom Reynolds was the other driver that also managed the staggering 29 laps. Jon Howells took 4th after getting caught up at the start of the Race; Rob Cork finished in 5th position which he had held for most of the race. Top juniors were Joe Punshon in the Truggy class and Mathew Lewis in the buggy class. Trophies were awarded to the top three positions in each Final, Overall TQ and Top junior buggy and Truggy driver. Junior Truggy and buggy trophies were supplied by Concept Racing who will be present at all meeting throughout the series.
