Robertson Riding High

The CARS club were once more the hosts for the final meeting of the 1/12th season at their Clay Cross venue. CML driver Keith Robertson was on the pace.

Celebrating 25 years they put on an excellent meeting as usual for the Modified Grand Prix. The track was praised by all as the layout and track markers meant great racing. With a GP format there were six rounds of qualifying and three finals for all. CML / Microtech Racing driver Keith Robertson put in a steady qualifying performance with his Associated L4 to line up seventh on the grid after some bad luck during the faster rounds meant he didn?t get the times the car was capable of. In the first leg he had some fine racing coming home in 6th place. A couple of subtle set-up changes for the second leg proved successful along with a good race strategy, finishing in 2nd. The final leg again saw Keith move up the field, his L4 the model of consistency on his way to fourth. This left Keith in 3rd place overall and on the podium to finish the year off. It also secured a top five place in the ?open? championship with his Novak powered car to go with the 19t championship he had already taken. Keith used the Novak GTB 4-cell speed controller with a Novak 5.5t motor, SMC cells and Jaco tyres with his L4.
