BRCA Micro National Series - Rnd 5

Craig Harris had taken the win at the two previous rounds and so the pressure was on Championship leader Steve Davis with the season drawing to an impressive close. In the Modified class Cris Oxley had already wrapped the Championship up so was racing for pleasure with Stu Harlow comfortably in 2nd place overall. The big battle of the day would have been Bill Pier vs. Tom Hudson for the last overall Championship place but with Tom having to miss the Round due to illness the places were all decided. The track was slightly different to the previous rounds with abit more of a ?flat track? feel to it, but this seemed to please a lot of the drivers who were looking for an excuse to stretch their legs and do some high speed battling. Pro-Stock Finals Throughout the Pro-Stock A final Craig was leaps and bounds ahead of the competition, consistently lapping over half a second faster than his nearest challenger Chris. Chris and Steve had been tailing each other for over ? of the race, but a small mistake by Steve gave 2nd place on the podium to Chris by a second. CML Distribution, Team Scream, Gecko Foams Pro-Stock Class Winners Modified Finals With Bill sitting pretty at the head of the grid the only thing he had to do was prove to himself that he was one of the best brushless drivers in the country. The Championship being wrapped up had helped relieve the pressure and the atmosphere for the final was very jovial! Bill set off at a consistent pace keeping his 1st place from Cris and Stu who were having a small battle afew seconds behind Bill. Stu made afew small mistakes which gave Cris enough of a gap to concentrate on catching Bill rather than defending his position. At the front, Bill was looking at his first ever A final win until a silly crash lost him enough time for Cris to sneak in front with only 3 laps to go. As they crossed the line Cris took the top spot from Bill, only 2 seconds behind, with Stu only 4 seconds behind the front two. 1st - Cris Oxley ? FTX Blaze ?
