BRCA 1/10th National

The Bury Metro facility played host to the 3rd round of the BRCA 1/10th off road series over a scorching weekend and saw Neil Cragg continue his 2wd winning ways.

Neil took the overall TQ in what were very close qualifying sessions with Associated team mate Lee Martin in second with his Novak powered RC10B4. The finals were again very close on this tricky track, Neil had been suffering from intermitant radio glitches which despite everything electrical being changed never seemed to go away. Despite this Neil fought hard to take the overall win from Lee with Ellis Stafford in 3rd. The 4wd event was an even closer affair with around 6 or 7 drivers all capable of roughly the same pace at the head of the pack, it was the odd mistake here and there that was the deciding factor. Darren Bloomfield took TQ but he would admit to being very lucky as in one of his TQ runs he rolled onto his wheels 4 times and each time ended up facing the right direction. Darren was impressive non the less and was fast enough to capitalise on his good fortune. The Yokomo drivers Paul Bradby and Neil Cragg lined up 4th and 6th respectively, Neil was just a little dissapointed he never had fully clean run as his car was fast and consistent. Darren managed to convert his TQ into a win and Neil fought hard from mod pack to take 3rd overall, which but for an unlucky incident at the end of leg 3 could have been 2nd. The series now moves on to the flat grass of Oswestry in a months time.
