CML driver Steve Davis triumphs at the UK Micro Challenge

Hereford touring car expert and CML team driver driver Stephen Davies scored an emphatic win at the UKMC3. Blaze and RC18 dominated in the brushed and brushless class while the Roxster took a clean sweep of the Monster truck class.

Driving his Blaze Stephen Davies took over FTD at the round three stage of qualifying taking FTD from Olly Jefferies, Stephen?s cars performance stunning the opposition. Putting in a storming last run was CML?s very own Wez Miles, Wez also driving a Blaze was looking strong and looking to challenge the top two in what looked to be a very competitive final. CML off road team driver Chris Doughty suffered for missing his practice due a motorway puncture on the way to the meeting, Chris qualified fifth but this result was compromised by his lack of practice and set up time with his Associated RC18B. From the buzzer Stephen looked to be in control of the A final despite loosing the early lead to Olly, it only took a couple of laps for Stephen to hit the front again and went on to score a superb victory. A first lap off from Wez spoilt his final but he recovered to finish 6th. In Brushless it was a brave win for Stuart Harlow with his RC18B ahead of the FTX Blazes of Chris Hudson who claimed FTD, and James Wright from 6th on the grid. In Monsters it was a podium of FTX Roxsters with a good win for Andy Lodwick who stole the win from pole man Dan Osbourne and Richard Brind. Full report coming soon in RRCi.
