Oople Off-Road Championship - Rnd 4

The two day meeting would consist of 4 rounds of qualifying on the Saturday with a final round of qualifying on the Sunday.

This past weekend CML and RC Octane driver Chris Mills compete in Round 4 of the Oople Off road championship with his Team Reedy/Hobbywing equipped Team Associated B64 at the popular South West Astroturf track of Mendip RC Raceway.

Being based in Wales and mainly racing on grass the venture to Astroturf would be challenging and the demanding track would require a stable and balanced car in order  to compete at the high-end. Fellow Team Associated & RC Octane drivers Craig Maher and Mark Hancock assisted Chris thought out the weekend to maximise the cars capability.

After qualifying the 4wd A final would line up as:

  •   6.  Stephen Lawson
  •   7.  Chris Mills

Finals

Leg One

Craig Harris would lead from pole to take leg one, with Graham North taking second and Chris Mills finishing 3rd after a monumental battle with Mark Hancock.

Leg Two

Craig Harris would once again take the win from pole and claim the meeting. Gavin Crolla would finish second and Stephen Lawson finished 3rd after a close battle with Daniel Hurrell.

Leg Three

Mark Hancock and Craig Harris battled intensively for the honours of the final leg with Mark claiming the victory after a small error from the pole man. Craig Maher would finish 3rd ahead of Chris Mills.
