BRCA Touring Car Series
CML and Associated driver Chris Grainger just missed out on the title at the end of the season.
The final round of the BRCA Touring Car series took place at the West London track last weekend, with five different drivers all in with a shot at the 2015 Modified title.
Team Associated pilot Chris Grainger put in a steling performance on the day with his Associated TC6.2. Going into the event he had the lead, tied with Elliott Harper on points but leading on count back. He managd to draw with Elliott in qualifying, both had two TQ rounds and a second, with the best 3 from 5 to count. Elliot took TQ with the fastest time from Chris by 1 second!
In first final Chris had a poor start with poor traction off the line, allowing contender Olly Jefferies to pass him into turn 1. By the time Chris re-passed him, Elliott was to far away.
Leg two was a fantastic race, Chris looking left right up and down to pass Elliot. He got an opportunity coming onto the straight but went too tight and caught the corner, giving Elliott enough breathing space to go on and take to win and Championship by one point.
Close but no cigar for Chris. Better luck next time
