Boot Camp Report Card

Boot Camp Report Card

Over the next few months we will be featuring some of our young talent from the Junior Boot camp and highlighting their achievements and progress. Starting with our UK prized possession, 14yr old Jamie Clancy.

Young Jamie "The Punk" Clancy has been making waves over the past 8 months with some incredible achievements to add to his racing CV.  The cheeky chappy from Herts Nitro RC has been quietly going about his business and notching up some impressive results in both nitro and electric. Whilst Jamie has been a dedicated and loyal AE fan for many years now he re-signed a 2yr deal at the beginning of the year to carry on his training. Commitment to the cause and confidence in the future is what we all like to see.

Jamie is the first to admit that its been tough at times when racing against some of the newer cars but he is also the first to defend his trusty Centro RC8.2. "Its not all about having the best car all the time. When you stay loyal to a brand you go through the highs and the lows. For me its about learning and applying my craft to all sorts of different situations and I couldn't wish for a better team to teach me - it's all about the team and I've learnt so much"

Jamie has become a very consistent performer and is maturing into a well rounded racer who keeps his cool in the midst of battle and also knows that when things go wrong, stomping your feet or screaming and shouting isn't the best look for a cool dude. We all love having Jamie around and he is a real character in the pits. He's learnt to deal with many situations, good and bad, and we are very proud of his progress not only on the track but as a person. Jamie has grown and learnt a great deal about controlling his emotions and dealing with situations with maturity and this speaks volume for his character.

Here is Jamie with the lads in Madrid

The Punk has made every Herts Club meeting A final  throughout 2013/2014 and on his B5Md debut he TQ'd and won. He's put on some fantastic shows of late and has gone head to head with some of the national drivers and performed brilliantly. He did his country proud at the recent B European Championships in Madrid and put on an awesome show only to narrowly miss out on a bump up spot after a cut on track. It was a phenomenal drive.

In action giving it some beans.....
