CML Winter Championships - Rnd 2

CML Winter Championships - Rnd 2

Round 2 of the ever popular CML Winter Champs took place the weekend with a good turnout of just over 80 drivers.

The series saw some new changes to the track and a team up with the designer of the new track layout and running the live feed Mr Teddy Truman himself. Truggy Qualifying saw John 'Stot' Geaves take overall TQ with Riki Karaka taking the second place spot. A Final Truggy saw a technical issue with John Geaves Car that cost him dearly in the final to allow Neil Sivins to come from 11th place and steal the show with Peter Wigglesworth to take 2nd and Riki Karaka to take 3rd. Simon Willetts took Control of the buggy Qualifying with 2 of the 3 qualifications with CML & HoBao driver Jon Howells taking the third and final round, with an impressive new track record on the Teddy Truman track of 7/301.90. A Final Buggy saw Simon Willetts lead from the start and never look back with the fight going on behind him of Reece Sawyer, our man Jon Howells and the ever popular John Holmes, with Graham Alsop having the briefest of placing and then falling by the wayside to not 1 but 2 blown driveshaft's. Talk about unlucky. Anyway with the fight going on until lap 11 we were just left with Jon and Reece. This was where the excitement was coming from with Jon pulling out some serious lap times and Reece keeping up the pressure right up until the end, with Jon Taking the 2nd place and Reece taking the well deserved 3rd place. All together a fantastic 2nd round with thanks going to the Frankley Crew and Teddy Trueman for some good racing and excellent live Coverage this surely must raise the stakes of the game now so here is to Round 3 on 19th December.
