Keith Robertson leads the BRCA 12th

The Plymouth club were the hosts for R5 and the members did a fantastic job of finding a new venue for the meeting at very short notice after the original hall sustained damage to its roof during the storms of last week.

The stand-in venue was excellent and the racing as ever was fast and furious. In 19t, it was a close battle between CML / Microtech Racing driver Keith Robertson, Andy Griffiths and Matt White for top spot. At the end of qualifying it was Keith who took pole position with his Checkpoint Money powered Associated L4. The final saw 2nd and 3rd place come together allowing Keith an early lead which he steadily extended, never under pressure ? setting fastest lap on the way to a dominant win. This now puts Keith into the lead of the championship with only one round to go. On Sunday for the modified class, Keith had a troubled time in qualifying but finally got it together in the last round to put his L4 5th on the grid ? his Checkpoint powered car plenty fast enough to mix it with those driving with brushless motors. In the final, a great start saw him quickly up to 3rd place and although not quite able to catch Andy Griffiths in the lead he had a fine battle with Matt White, Keith taking 2nd place with only a lap to go with no sign of his SMC cells losing their performance. Once again the Associated proved to be the car to have with more ?A? final drivers preferring the L4 to any other car.
