TEAM AE Clean Sweep

Team Associated Take It All at the 2016 Summer Cross Series held at the Weston Park Air Show.

First up to take the top honours was development driver James Harrold. James took the 1st place prize in the Junior class and 3rd place overall. James was solid throughout qualifying on both days and managed to convert his brilliant qualifying into a fantastic final result.  James was right at the sharp end for most of the final on Sunday pushing his veteran team mates over the finish line wth some fantastic up front race pace. James was backed up on both days by up and coming star, Gaow Hedley, finishing in 2nd place in the junior class and having what he described as an “awesome weekend”

Next up, Lloyd Pitt took the overall TQ and win on both days with Reedy Powered RC8B3e in the Electric class. In dominating fashion Lloyd managed to claw back some valuable points during the weekend to put him right back in the fight for the Nitro X electric championship.

In the Veteran class it was Craig Drescher who took the overall win with his Rex powered RC8B3 from team Mate Jonathan Howels. Age before beauty...

In the Open class it was veteran Craig Drescher who took the overall win in a very close battle with team mate Jonathan Howels, securing a 1 2 3 for Team Associated in the open class. 1st Craig Drescher, 2nd Jonathan Howels and 3rd James Harrold.

“Whilst the weather turned on us for the finals on Sunday. We did a pretty good job in the end. It wasn’t easy and never is in adverse weather conditions.  Lady luck played a part but that's racing. I actually think I had better pace in the dry and my set-up definitely suited those conditions better. I’m delighted with the teams performance and couldn't ask for anything more. 5 AE cars in the final on Saturday and a podium lock-out on Sunday. A huge thumbs up to the guys at the race and a MASSIVE thanks to AE for giving us a great platform to work with. " Craig Drescher
