Kidderminster Summer Series 2016

Kidderminster Summer Series 2016

The last round of the 2016 Kidderminster Summer Series took place on Sunday 11th September 2016, the weather was looking promising for September so a good turnout was expected. The Series has seen entries for 1/16th Micro, 1/10th 2WD, 4WD, Stadium Truck, Vintage 2WD and Vintage 4WD with the odd race for Fun with a Pizza up for grabs at some rounds.

Sunday was no different to the previous rounds and saw a good turnout of drivers as this was the last round for some drivers to tie up the overall series wins.
The layout was a fast and flowing with a bit of tarmac thrown into the mix. Practice and the first round would see a damp and slippy track making things a little tricky to start with, but as the sun came out the track dried and the grip levels increased again catching a few people out!

Vintage 2WD would see CML’s Keith Robertson dominate the qualifying and overall series running one of his vintage Team Associated cars, CML Team mate Jason Potter would go on to take the overall TQ in Stadium Trucks with his Reedy powered Team Associated T5M, but he did not have it all his own way with James Williams fighting hard taking 2 round TQ’s also with his Team Associated T5M. The Team Associated T5M has been a popular choice in the pits and I am sure we will see a few more for the next series.
1/16th Micros and it would be Ian Littley taking the overall TQ as Jason could only manage to TQ one round with Ian driving clean and fast for 3 rounds, the Carisma GTB is still the car to beat with the majority of drivers choosing the Carisma chassis, 2WD would see Richie Thorn dominate every round with his new Team Associated RC10B6 and 4WD would see Chris Bowater taking the TQ.
