Clancy and Reeves Podium at Herts Summer Series

Qualifying got underway with the track in good condition. The work the club have put in is certainly making for a faster and slightly longer lap time.

So, we set of with good weather and high hopes after our Winter Series performance. The ever growing team had a new recruit in Harry Philips who was very quickly up to speed and the team would end qualifying with 4 cars in the top 7.

Overall Qualifying Positions

• 2nd Jamie Clancy (AE/Rex/Proline/Reedy/Byron)
• 5th Simon Reeves (AE/Rex/Proline/Savox/Byron)
• 6th Harry Phillips (AE/Proline)
• 7th Tom Saggers (AE/Proline)
• 13th Jamie Cutter (AE/Rex/Proline)
• 25th Jason Patey (AE/REX/Proline)

Jason Patey was first up in the C final. Some quick pit stops and great driving saw Jamie come home 4th missing the bump by less than a 1/10th of a second. A great effort just coming up short! Jamie Cutter ran a great B Final to bump up to the A final joining our 4 other cars so we have 5 cars in the A final, the most of any brand!

The A final got underway and Simon was able to jump from 5th to 3rd by the second corner. By the end of the first lap Jamie and Jack Embling where battling away but a mistake cost Simon and would see new recruit Harry hold 3rd for some time. As the Final progressed Jamie had one error too many and had to settle for 2nd. Simon’s 10min fuel strategy would secure 3rd and Harry Phillips in his third ever race with the RC8B3 finishing up in 4th, really showing a turn of speed since switching to the AE car. So 5 cars in the final a great start to the Summer Series
