Garry Clancy reports back from the HNMC British GP.

The past weekend a crack-commando unit of Team AE/CML descended on the 3 day HNMC British GP. With over a hundred entries and some stiff competition the team were going to have to work hard to squeeze out a solid result.

In Truggy class, Darren Hayden Ball was on fire, performing the fastest in practice and securing TQ with some slick driving. In Electric Buggy and Nitro, Jamie Clancy was back to sublime form, putting in the fastest practice times in both classes and then following it up by taking TQ in eBuggy and TQing all 6 qualifying rounds in the Nitro class!

The rest of the team were also pulling in strong results with Robson White qualifying 2nd behind Jamie in Electric and also making the semis with his Team Associated B3.1 in nitro.

Onto the finals, and with Darren still hotter than a supernova, he drove an excellent race to comfortably win the Truggy final. In eBuggy, Jamie won the first two legs and secured the win. Robson brought his vehicle home first in leg three to take the win as Jamie pulled out of the. A 1-2 in that class for team CML.

The Nitro semis saw Jamie take the win and cement himself into the main backed up by Robson and new man Carl Chillingsworth with his RC3.1 debut! Darren had a tech issue so unfortunately missed the main.

The main final was an awesome race with Jamie pulling away at the start and having a trouble free race from start to finish, pulling a big gap over the rest of the field, showing the 3.1’s pace is strong. After the 45 min race it was Jamie that took the win with Joni Skidmore in 2nd and fellow Pro-Line driver Jack Embling in third. Robson and Carl both had a solid final.

So, a fantastic result for AE and CML Distribution with a clean sweep of TQ and wins in all three classes.

Next up, Slough national in two weeks and hopefully more fantastic team results to come...
