Another Win For The Team Associated T5M At Kidderminster

The T5M comes out on top again at the biggest Stadium Truck series in the UK.

Kidderminster Summer Series Stadium Trucks

The last round of the 2017 Kidderminster Summer Series took place on Sunday 27th August 2017 and the weather was looking to be a scorcher so a good turnout was expected. This is probably the biggest following of “truckers” in the UK proving it is still a popular and fun class to race.

The Kidderminster layout was fast and flowing with a bit of tarmac thrown into the mix to maximise the track area. Practice and the first round would see a good level of grip, but as the sun came out the track got hotter the track started to get a bit slower due to lower grip levels.

Qualifying would be tense as there were a number of drivers that could possibly take the overall series win. Greg Hill would go on to TQ three rounds with CML’s Jason Potter qualifying second overall with his Associated T5M. The Associated T5M was a popular choice again this year with quite a few drivers choosing to run the truck.

Top 10 overall qualifying

  1. Greg Hill
  2. Jason Potter (AE T5M)
  3.  Dan Hopkins (AE T5M)
  4. James Williams (AE T5M)
  5. Stuart Carling (AE T5M)
  6. Adam Breese
  7. Andrew Bird
  8. Brandon Young
  9. Philip Hitchman (AE T5M)
  10. John Ryland

Greg had a prior engagement meaning he was unable to race the final. The grid lined up minus Greg and it proved to be a close battle with the top four and at the end of the five minuets it would be Jason that came out on top with Dan, James and Stuart following all running the Associated T5M truck.
