Flies Excellent!! But...

This model looks fantastic, the details are very good rite down to the cockpit decals and the small components inside the cockpit such as the flight stick etc. The frame is very detailed and has some very nice features, such as wing canons and a kind of pitot tube? The retracts cycle in a very scale fashion including the doors that close after the retracts come up. The red and green wing lights are very bright and very cleanly installed. When I flew it, it flew very nicely! It fly's like a trainer and was very "boaty" so had a scale look to it in the air, I had it on low rates as so to get used to it. Im sure with a higher C rated battery (I was running 20c) you could get more punch out of it and have it do some aerobatics. When I landed it, it was so easy to land it was unreal, and the sprung retracts soaked up all of the weight on landing, it literally looked like it had landed on a giant super soft sponge! It has plenty of power and makes a nice howling whistle sound as it flies past on full throttle. However during the flight of my second battery after 2 successful flights the prop assembly flew apart mid flight! This in turn caused the motor mount/hub and motor to tear away from the plane, leaving it hanging from the plane as I barely managed to belly land it. The flaps came off as it hit the floor and the motor and part of the hub attached, went rolling about 30 yards across the field and one of the retracts fell out but the frame was intact and had hardly any dents including the wings for the most part. Having contacted CML service dept, I was sent another one, but this time, when testing everything, one of the retracts started to smoke and neither worked, and one of the servos on the flaps was faulty. Again CML sent me out some retracts in spare wings. To cut it short, If you buy this model, make sure that all of the components on the aircraft are the version 2 components. These are the retracts, motor hub, prop assembly and motor mount. If you are unsure as to what they look like, do some research on forums first. Otherwise you will end up with the same issues as I did. I must say however, despite all the problems, CML distribution have done an outstanding job with sending me the replacements and have provided excellent customer service! But as for the aircraft I can only give it 3 stars based on my own experience of the model and am displeased that FMS are still allowing these version 1 aircraft to circulate, its not only a inconvenience but also potentially very dangerous!. One of the blades that flew off missed someone by about a foot. Obviously not CML distributions fault, FMS should have tested these parts before they leave the factory! But once it is sorted and you have a proper clean product with all of the V2 components fitted it is excellent and I would give it 5 stars if that had been the case. Just make sure it has the V2 Components!!! I can not stress that enough! Well done to CML distribution's fantastic customer service 5/5 stars from me!
