Savox 1/8 - TQ, Fastest Lap & Vice Champion
Savox and CML driver Tim Woods reports back from his latest national.
The last 1/8 Circuit BRCA National of 2014 took place at the Cotswold circuit near Cirencester. The race was held particularly late this year. Saturday practice was a wash out, with limited laps being completed by a dozen or so drivers only.
Sunday saw the last day of 1/8 racing this year and was damp up-to round 3 when the track finally became dry. After 2 dry qualifying rounds, Tim Wood's Savox powered Serpent 977 took overall TQ from young superstar Kyle Branson in 2nd.
In the final a good race was in prospect but in the early laps a backmarker tripped Tim up and onto the grass, gifting a large lead to Branson and ultimately the win. Tim finished 3rd with a car quick enough to win. In the fight-back Tim clocked a 14.9 second lap - two tenths quicker than any other car.
Third place for the Savox car cemented the BRCA Vice Champion position for 2014 in what has been a solid performance building year. The Savox SB2271 servos in Tim's 977 have performed faultlessly - the same two servos for the entire season perfectly displaying the performance and reliability they give.
Several 1/8 Circuit drivers have switched to SB2271 servos this year - Don't fall behind, bolt a pair in for next year - fit, forget and win!
