Midlands Super Cup

Round 3 of the Midland Super Cup took place last weekend at Swindon Model Car Club. Jon Howells reports back.

On one of the hottest weekends, Lloyd Pitt and I traveled to the Swindon track, a 75% astro 25% dirt/worn grass arena, with the fastest biggest berm I have ever driven on. Using Pro-Line Pin Point tyres, with three rows chopped off the front and two at the rear, a super fast lap of 32 sec became possible in the super hot dry conditions.

I managed to start from pole and after not the best of starts went on to win comfortably with my RC8.2 Centro, followed by Rich Hanscome in second Jon Grithfres in 3rd.

Team mate Lloyd Pitt ran electric and qualified 7th, going on to finish 3rd with  his Associated 8.2e Reedy batteries, Viper speed controller and Reedy 2100 motor.

Great thanks to Swindon club and Tim and his crew for putting on a good show.
