TQ & Second for Wood & Savox
29/08/12
Last weekend saw the latest 1/8 National take place at the Cotwold Circuit.
Fresh from a dissapointing Euro As in Portugal, Tim was back on form with his Savox powered Serpent 966TE.
After the mandatory Saturday practice, the competition was looking tight with several drivers lapping in the low 14seconds bracket.
Raceday dawned wet with intense rain meaning qualifying took place on a drying circuit.
The Savox SC1258-TG servos in Tims car worked flawlessly in the final heat which was virtually dry. The result was TQ by a full 9 seconds!
The start of the final saw a slow start for Tim but an intense race developed with Adam Catchpole. Tim had a new Protoform body which was good but not quite as quick as the Pro-lite version used in qualy. At the end, Adam got the better of Tim making one less pitstop. Nevertheless, the Savox powered Serpent grabbed another good result building on this years championship challenge.
If you have not tried the Savox servos as used in Tim's 966, give them a try - Consistent good results prove the undoubted performance.

Next Up, Halifax in 2 weeks for the rescheduled Round 5 of the BRCA 1/8 Circuit Championship
