Carisma Cars - an alternative TC?

Carisma Cars - an alternative TC?

Fancy racing in a competitive yet, extremely affordable class of touring car racing? Then why not join the ranks of Bedworth Model Car Club and form a racing class for the Carisma range of 1/14th scale on road cars.

Bedworth, along with local shop FTD racing has been very successful in generating renewed interest in TC racing despite escalating costs. Their classes for stock RTR and open has enabled not only newcomers to compete on a budget but also seasoned racers to enjoy some high performance without breaking the bank. Carisma's RTR packages feature a race bred 4wd design that performs straight out the box. The competition version includes carbon fibre chassis parts normally reserved for 1/10th cars in excess of ?300. The components needed to complete the racing package is equally affordable, yet the performance is that associated with 1/10th. The GT14 Pro is ideal for existing racers who already have their own transmitter and electrics. Bedworth say the added appeal of being able to race on smaller tracks as well as ones such as the size of Bedworth makes the Carisma cars ideal for mid-week indoor and weekend outdoor racing. For clubs/shops interested in trying to promote more cost effective racing with the Carisma range please contact CML for details. In the meantime enjoy some pictures and news from the latest round of the Carisma series held during the Bedworth Winter Series: After a slightly late start while we cleared the snow off the track, racing got underway at about 10.30am with 3 qualifiers (round by round) then 2 finals. Some great racing with drivers trying to find the best tyres in the tricky slippy conditions. The day also had quite a few 1/8th off road guys trying on road for the first time with the Carisma cars and having great fun to boot. Carisma have a great range of pre-painted shells but check out some of the drivers own designs. A mixture of RTR and the Pro versions were running with one Box standard RTR car qualifying in 10th and finishing in 7th in the finals, proving you dont have to spend big bucks to race competitively (also an off-roader racing on-road for the first time!) After qualifying was over Jack Laws held Pole position from Bob Burr and Jordan Norwood, with Richard Harris just missing out on a top 3 place in 4th. Bob Burr showed them the way home with wins in both finals to take the overall win on the day, a very close battle for 2nd and 3rd spot in both finals resulted in Jack Laws taking 2nd spot and Howard Harrison coming through from 6th on the grid to steal 3rd. The Carisma 1/14th scale maybe a smaller car but it's certainly not a less competitive class. Click here view the Carisma 1/14th range.
