Solid Weekend for the TC5

Solid Weekend for the TC5

Last weekend saw the associated TC5 once again at the sharp end of two major carpet championships.

Olly Jefferies and Alan Bickerstaff were campaigning their versions of the TC5 at the Carpet Wars series at the Maritime Raceway while Tom Jefferies was enjoying success at Chippenham Carpet Thrashnals. As part of the continued development programme for the TC5 on carpet Alan Bickerstaff flew over from Belfast to join Olly Jefferies for round three of Carpet Wars. It was Alan?s first visit to the Maritime venue and he was soon on the pace. Olly was hard on the heels of early pace setter Elliott Harper and the two drivers swapped fastest lap times as they lapped noticeably faster than the chasing pack. By the end of qualifying Elliott was top of the pile with Olly close behind. Both drivers had bad finals with Olly getting hit off early on and then struggling to make places back while Elliott retired close to the end of the A final. Alan was pleased with his weekends work, he was able to take advantage of recent set up improvements and try his car back to back against Olly?s. Alan qualified seventh and finished seventh in the A final. Alan and Tom both love the TC5. At the Chippenham Carpet Thrashnals Tom Jefferies was having a very good day, after round one Tom was second overall but then improved in round two to take TQ. Tom then went on to be fastest in round three and set up an exciting final round of qualifying. FTD would be fought out between national pro stock front runner Rob West and Tom. A small mistake by Tom on his last run allowed Rob in to sneak FTD by two tenths of a second. Both A finals were hard fought with honours shared; Rob West taking the leg one win and Tom leading from lap one to take the second leg. This results now moves Tom up to second in the series. A great result for Tom as he strives to move out of the shadow of his more well know brother and establish himself in his own right. Tom is sticking with Pro Stock for 2009 and is hoping for a good run at next months DHI cup in Denmark. You can download Tom's TC5 Setup Sheet here.
