Hi there. When will these FMS 1.4m fighter planes be available in the shops. I live in the Northants area. Can you let me know what model shops in the area’s will be selling the models.
I suppose anything is possible! I presume you are worried about flying off grass? I have flown all these aircraft off grass and tarmac runways and they have always been fine.
The aircraft has finished testing in the UK and we are awaiting confirmation on the time line of improvements. I am hoping they should be here for the end or at latest very early next year. We want the product to be right but understand your frustration….it’s a lovely flying aircraft!
I have the P51 and am unsure exactly which parts are supposed to be glued together. Although a tube of glue is included there is no mention of its use in the instructions. They only describe fixing components together with screws. Are for example the wings designed to be permanently glued to the fuselage or the tail components? I should be grateful for some guidance.

You can use the 2 part epoxy to glue the horizontal and vertical stabs as well as screwing them. We normally do this to our show models just as belt and braces. Obviously, you cant disasseble the aircraft fully but they are small to fit in your car without a problem.
Can you advise on the control throws for the Spitfire. Also continuing the above question, do the wings need to be epoxied or can they be dismantled for transport, if so the only thing holding them on is the small screww into the the bridging tube?
I suggest 20mm up and down on ailerons, all you can get on rudder and elevator. Use 30% expo all round.
The wing is fine with just the single screw clamps, you can also use just the “hook” out of velcro on the top face of the root of the wing. This acts as a friction pad to keep the wing in place as foam on foam can move around.
Hi steve,
I have the FMS BF109 1400MM with the electric retracts version bought a month ago, I am about to set the control throws but no mention in the manual, is the recommended throws the same as the spitfire as in the previous post.
Regards Steve
Congratulations on your fine purchase. It’s a very smooth operator and one of my favourites.
Ailerons, get as much as you can.
Elevator, 20mm up and Down.
Rudder, all you can get
Set Dual Rates and set as much elevator as you can for ground handling, we fly off grass and tarmac and this stops you from nosing over.
Keep an eye out on flighthub for the brand new Stuka, I’m testing it this week.

Are FMS going to bring a model of the hawker hurricane out in the future would be nice with the spitfire.

Hi Steve
The only thing I can say is that it is not in the FMS development plan for 2011.
Other exciting products are already well underway so stay tuned.
